Spring Engagement Session

Spring has sprung in the Blue Ridge Mountains. While Mother Nature is still in her bipolar phase in May, we lucked out for session and got one of those warm Spring days that feels like it’s straight out of a movie. It’s ended up being one of my all-time favorite engagement sessions. I had the pleasure of working with this amazing couple, Alex and Andrea, who were just a dream to work with. They were so much fun and up for anything, which made for some truly amazing photos. I’m all about prompts over posing… Which means I’ll say something like “I want you guys to just hold hands, and walk up that hill like you can’t keep your hands off each other.” Then I just let couples interpret that however they like… it can get some weird looks but the name of the game is just creating movement and authentic smiles.

Their session was a beautiful reflection of their relationship. The way they looked at each other was gentle, sweet and warm, and you could feel the love and connection between them. I felt like we were straight out of a summer teen romance movie. In the best non-cringey way. The photos perfectly captured the essence of their relationship and the love they so clearly share. It felt sweet, and innocent in a way… but playful.

Alex and Andrea’s positivity and energy made the whole experience feel like we were just out for a fun adventure together. It was an honor to capture such a beautiful and genuine love story, and I am grateful to have been a part of their journey. Even for a night. I swear I was racing home to get these uploaded because I just knew they were magic.
