Ashley and Willie have been married for, well… a long time. They are still madly in love, always willing to go on an adventure and were willing to hop back into some wedding clothes for a session at my favorite venue in the high country… The Twickenham House in Jefferson NC.
With this shoot, I wanted it to feel like a movie. I focused on narrative story telling to highlight all the love, passion and emotion that you only get by being a team as long as these two have. The shoot featured a stunning wedding gown and Rolls Royce getaway car added a touch of luxury and old money feel to the shoot, which perfectly complemented the refined elegance of the Twickenham House and Hall wedding venue.
Since this wasn’t their actual wedding day, I had a lot more time to really help steer the day, while still focusing on creating some natural movement, allowing for spontaneous moments and most importantly, getting to drink on the job. We may or may not have shared some White Claws while in hair and makeup and it definitely made the day pretty silly…

Thanks to Wilcox Travel, we got an amazing Rolls Royce as their ‘getaway’ car. To say I was drooling is an understatement. A luxury car, in front of the stunning manor? Uh that’s what my photographer dreams are made of.

Today, the tradition of the getaway car remains a popular part of many wedding celebrations. I for one, am a big fan. Especially at a venue like The Twickenham House in Jefferson (hear that google?!) The road from the venue to the nearest hotel is a long one, might as well let someone else drive it for you!
Located at an elevation of 4,000 feet in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the cliffside ceremony site at the Twickenham House and Hall is an unforgettable location to exchange vows. It can be a bit of a butt clencher if heights make you nervous, but with views like that… it’s worth it. Don’t even get me started on how absolutely epic sunsets are from there…
