Proposal at the Banner Elk Winery

Banner Elk Winery in North Carolina

As a wedding and couples photographer, I have had the pleasure of capturing countless beautiful moments of love and commitment.

However, one of my favorite experiences I had was when Griffin reached out to me about capturing his proposal to Maddie. Griffin had planned a beautiful surprise proposal at the stunning Banner Elk Winery in North Carolina. Maddie’s family had arrived early to help set up a gazebo, and everything was in place for a picture-perfect moment.

The weather was absolutely stunning, with the warm sun shining down on the happy couple. A rare sight for a winter proposal.

As I arrived at the winery, I could feel the excitement in the air. Griffin was understandably a smidge nervous, but he was also clearly excited about the moment that was about to unfold. Maddie’s family and friends had driven from all over to come and celebrate this special moment with them.

When Maddie arrived, she was completely surprised and overwhelmed by the love and support of everyone there. Griffin got down on one knee, and as he pulled out the ring, Maddie’s eyes filled with tears of joy. The moment was emotional and incredibly sweet, and I felt honored to be able to capture it all on camera.

But it wasn’t just the proposal itself that was special – it was the moments that followed. Their dog Riley made an appearance and stole the show, wagging his tail and showering the couple with love and affection. The celebration that followed was filled with laughter, hugs, and happy tears. As a photographer, it’s moments like these that remind me of the incredible power of love and the joy that comes from being able to capture it all on camera. For Griffin and Maddie, their proposal was just the beginning of their journey together, (we’re keeping this love fest going with a New Year’s Eve wedding!)  but it was a moment that they will cherish forever. If you’re thinking about capturing a special moment in your own relationship, whether it’s a proposal, an engagement shoot, or your wedding day, I encourage you to reach out to a professional photographer. The memories you make will last a lifetime, and having them captured on camera is an incredible way to relive those moments for years to come.
